Initials Inc. Review imageWelcome to my Initials Inc. Review!

Initials Inc. is making an impact on the lives of women and families across the country.

In this Initials Inc. Review, I will be examining this company to provide you with the details regarding their products and the MLM Business Opportunity that they offer as an Initials Inc. Creative Partner.

How does Initials Inc. stack up against other MLM opportunities?  Is Initials Inc. a scam, or a legitimate and promising Home Business opportunity?  I intend to answer these questions in my unbiased Initials Inc. Review.

Company Details & History

Initials Inc Logo imageFounded in 2005 by two sisters, Britney C. Vickery & Ivy C. Hall, Initials Inc. is a Personalization Business that offers a tremendous product line of:

  • Garment Bags
  • Backpacks
  • Purses
  • Handbags
  • Towels
  • Kitchen Products
  • Water Bottles
  • Many Varieties of Accessories
  • Organizers

This includes only a sample of their product line, as they offer a wide array of fun products and gifts for just about anyone.

What makes Initials Inc. products unique is their ability to personalize each item with monograms.  The Initials Inc. Catalog features many products that can be personalized to be truly unique to your particular taste and preference.

Every Initials Inc. Product is promoted and distributed exclusively through Initials Inc. Creative Partners (distributors).  This will now lead us into my review of the Initials Inc. Home Business Opportunity.

MLM Business – Getting started and how it all works

The cost to begin your business as an Initials Inc. Creative Partner will be $139 for your Starter Kit, plus any applicable shipping charges and taxes.  This will provide you with 11 products with a value of more than $400.  This Starter Kit used to provide you with 13 products at the time that I conducted my first Initials Inc. Review in September of 2010.

Your Starter Kit will also provide you with:

  • Catalogs
  • Order Forms
  • Postcard Invitations
  • Opportunity Brochures
  • Trim & Fabric Ring
  • Free Replicated Initials Inc. Website

Compensation – Looking at their pay plan

Initials Inc. will provide you with a 25% base commission for every product that you sell.  You will also earn recruitment bonuses, personal sales bonuses, and promotional bonuses as you increase your personal sales volumes, and recruit new Creative Partners into your organization.

Creative Partner Training & Support

Initials Inc Products imageAs a Creative Partner, Initials Inc. will train you to achieve sales, and recruit new Partners into your organization through the methods of Home Parties.

You will contact everyone whom you personally know among your friends, family members, acquaintances, co-workers, and neighbors to schedule a Party in their home.  You will encourage your hostess to invite as many guests as possible.

As you conduct this party, you will showcase and demonstrate many of the products from your Starter Kit, as well as additional products that you have purchased.  You will accept orders as your loved ones are shopping for products, and searching for gift ideas in a fun and uplifting environment.  You will recruit new Creative Partners as others notice your passion for your Home Business.

Hostess Rewards Program

As an incentive for your friends and family members to host a party of their own, Initials Inc. offers a Hostess Rewards Program.  This will reward your hostesses with discounted merchandise, and even free products based upon the amount of sales that you generate in their home.  For example:

  • If Guest Sales total $250, the Hostess will earn $25 in free products.
  • If Guest Sales total $450, the Hostess will earn $60 in free products.
  • If Guest Sales total $650, the Hostess will earn $100 in free products.
  • If Guest Sales total $850, the Hostess will earn $150 in free products.
  • If Guest Sales total $1,000, the Hostess will earn $200 in free products.

Initials Inc. Review Conclusion

In my opinion, Initials Inc. is a legitimate MLM Business.  This is not a scam.  Initials Inc. offers fun and stylish products for any taste, and each product comes unique and personalized to you.

Food for thought…

Selling products through the means of Home Parties is not for everyone, and requires a very special personality and work ethic.

While Home Parties can generate a substantial income, many quickly find that maintaining a full schedule of Home Parties will become extremely difficult when they are limited to their Warm Market of friends and family members.

Based upon the training that new Creative Partners receive from Initials Inc, if you are not scheduling Home Parties, you are not making sales, and all momentum is lost.

Also, while Initials Inc. offers fun and stylish products, they are not necessities for everyday living, especially during periods of economic hard-times.  It is important to keep that in mind in your search for a Home Business.

With that being said, if you desire to share Initials Inc. products with others, and are willing to invest the time and effort that your business will require, I believe that Initials Inc offers a solid opportunity.

I ordered the consultant kit a few months ago hoping that initials inc would be a great home business for me. When I opened the box that contained the items I felt sick to my stomach. All of the items you could find(quality wise) on the clearance rack at Target or Walmart for a 10th of what initials inc asks for them. If you are considering a home-based business please make sure you see, touch the items first before becoming a rep, don’t make the same mistake I did. Also, initials inc offers no refund/exchange for products. So, unless they come to you very clearly defective you are stuck with them, and you have to pay to ship them back. There are a lot of better choices out there!

hi Ruth, have you looked at Thirty-One? They are actually quite similar due to personalization but more on the home organizational and totes kind of thing. i have seen both lines in persona and they both have their focus and strong points from the other. Initials has more of the modern prints that i like to buy when i hit the fabric stores. Thirty-one has more for utility and heavy duty for everyday use but without looking so utility. You can check out my site raya31.com for more info.

I thought this might be a good company. I also did my research and found little bad feedback online. However. . . I took the leap and figured it would be a fun side project. WRONG! They are sold out of most everything!! Had a party, and now am having to hunt people down, give back checks (might be why they encourage people to pay with a credit card), and pretty much tell them sorry for wasting there time! They run promotions they can not back up. If you are busy and looking for something fun and productive to do in your spare time, this is not it!

    • Dave Fennell says:

      Hi Sara,

One thing to consider is that we are nearing the end of the current catalog run. Sara, I was in your shoes last year…joined in May, got a little frustrated with things selling out. But I stuck it out and while I am not where I want to be yet (sale-wise) I know I can make it happen. I (and my children, haha) am the only one standing in my way. Unfortunately this time of year you have to close parties/orders immediately to guarantee product as Initials makes room for the new items coming in August. I am headed to the National conference this weekend and am THRILLED to see what is next!

  6. purse insert says:

Very helpful post man, thanks for the info.

  7. annie says:

you will definitely make money if you can sell this stuff, but it’s very poorly made and falls apart without much use whatsoever – they can sell you $400 worth of starter materials for $139 because it’s only worth about $10. furthermore they offer no guarantee – once you’ve made the purchase it’s yours. it may be a legitimate business, but they are scamming customers.

    • Kimberly says:

I completely disagree with this. I have been with Initials, Inc. for a year and a half now. With over $6,000 in product sold I have had problems with just two items…and to be honest one was due to my son seriously abusing his tote, so I almost don’t want to count that one. One customer’s lining tore in her purse and it was was replaced, no charge to her…she had it in her hands 2 days after I submitted my replacement request. There is a 90 day guarantee.

  10. Maggie says:

Hi! I have been with the Initials, inc. since October 2009. This is a great growing company!!! I have had nothing but positive experiences with great support to help me grow my business. We do have a 90 day guarantee on our products…no questions asked. I have been carrying the same bag since January 2011 to now August 2011 and have not had one problem with the bag. And being a working mom with two jobs and two kids…I am not nice to my bags…. My friend still uses her bag she purchased in October 2009…she has even machined washed the bag (not recommended)

  16. Diane M Shoup says:

I just received my stacking insulated bag but can’t find on it anywhere where it was made. There was an error on the order – my initials were to be in lower case letters and the order tag reflected that but the person who did the embroidery did it in upper case. I accepted it anyway because the initials were the correct ones and it doesn’t affect the functionality
