LifeVantage Review – Scam Or Legitimate MLM Business?
Welcome to my LifeVantage Review!
LifeVantage is a Multi-level Marketing (MLM) company with a mission to help people reach their wellness goals by offering science-based products.
In this LifeVantage Review, I will be examining their company, products, and more importantly, the MLM Business Opportunity that they offer as a LifeVantage Distributor. Does LifeVantage offer a legitimate MLM Business Opportunity, or is this just a scam or pyramid scheme? I intend to answer this very question in my LifeVantage Review.
Company Details & History
Founded in 2003, LifeVantage offers two extremely popular anti-aging products:
- TrueScience Anti-Aging Cream
Backed by cutting-edge science, is formulated to battle the signs of aging from the outside in, leaving your skin more beautiful and evenly-toned.
- Protandim Antioxidant Therapy
Their Flagship Product
Protandim is LifeVantage’s flagship product, and is the catalyst behind their tremendous level of success as a Health and Wellness company. This product is advertised as the only nutritional supplement that is clinically proven to reduce oxidative stress by an average of 40%. This product is formulated to slow down the cell aging process to the level of a 20 year-old.
These products are offered exclusively through LifeVantage’s large network of Distributors who earn compensation as they promote these products among their friends and family members. This will now transition us into my review of the LifeVantage Home Business Opportunity.
MLM Business – Getting started and how it works
I have been following LifeVantage for a few months now, and I wrote my first LifeVantage Review back in September of 2010. At that time, the minimum cost to become a LifeVantage Distributor was $50 for their Starter Kit. However, your earning potential would be severely limited if you did not purchase a Vantage Pack for $600.
Today, I do know that the purchase of their Vantage Pack is still required to enjoy the full benefits of the LifeVantage Compensation Plan. However, LifeVantage no longer discloses the cost of this pack until you begin the enrollment process by entering your personal information. If the cost has changed, you will need to learn more from the Distributor who has introduced you to LifeVantage.
Their Autoship Requirement
Next, you will be highly encouraged to enroll into their monthly Autoship program, which is another requirement to maximize your earning potential within the LifeVantage Compensation Plan. Through this program, LifeVantage products will be shipped to your home every month, and your credit card will be billed accordingly.
Maintaining a monthly Autoship of 100 PV ($100), will qualify you to participate in SOME of the elements of their Pay Plan. Maintaining a monthly Autoship of 200 PV ($200) will qualify you to earn the maximum bonus and commission payouts within the LifeVantage Compensation Plan.
Compensation Overview – How to earn
As a LifeVantage Distributor, you will in time earn income from 6 elements within LifeVantage’s pay plan as you generate personal sales, and recruit new Distributors to do the same.
I will limit the details to this, as I have included a link at the bottom of this LifeVantage Review that will provide you with the exact details of how Distributors are compensated within the LifeVantage Compensation Plan.
Distributor Training & Support
Traditional methods of Network Marketing or Word-of-Mouth are the concepts that LifeVantage trains their Distributors to utilize.
These methods are what I like to refer to as “Warm Marketing.” You will be encouraged to prospect among your friends, family, acquaintances, and associates to sell LifeVantage products. You will recruit those within your warm market who express an interest in the opportunity as a LifeVantage Distributor on your team.
LifeVantage Review Conclusion
In my opinion, LifeVantage is a legitimate MLM Business, and is not a scam. They offer a product that was developed after 40 years of research, recently being featured on ABC, NBC, PBS, and also in “The Wall Street Journal,” LifeVantage has proven that they offer a high-demand product that is experiencing a tremendous increase in momentum and popularity.
Food for thought…
However, where I believe LifeVantage is falling short is in regards to their new Distributor Training. I have never been a fan of the Warm Marketing methods that MLM companies encourage, as I just don’t feel that these old-fashioned techniques are the most effective way to build a long-term and profitable home business in today’s world.
Your success within LifeVantage will be a direct reflection of your ability to market their products, the business opportunity, and more importantly, yourself as a leader. For those who are limited to their small network of friends and family members, they will quickly find this task to be far more difficult than what was portrayed.
Coupled with your ability to truly MARKET your business, LifeVantage offers a solid opportunity with high-quality nutritional products in a booming Health & Wellness industry.
Next, learn the exact details of how you would be compensated as my LifeVantage Review continues with their Compensation Plan!

Thats really shrewd! Good to see the logic set out so well.
Thank you Marel!
This has made my day. I wish all postings were this good.
Hi Dave, It seems like a fair review – thank you. I have been taking Protandim for almost a month. I started my two dogs on it as well. With many years of alternative health care work, study and practice, I can say this is a break through product. I have taken many supplements over the years and enjoyed good health. This has made an even bigger difference. Plus I notice a change in my two pups. It is a tremendous product and I think many people will benefit from it in a multitude of ways. I look forward to even more research for even more improvement in this arena. It already has 3 patents and endorsements from the American Heart Asso, the Olympics, the BCSG (they test for drugs in athletes and the products they use) and so on. I just signed up to become a distributor. And yes, even though there is compensation, that is secondary to the health benefits this provides. After all, you pay a doctor and maybe you get results maybe you don’t. The cost is the same or probably greater. I hope you will try the product and see for yourself. All it takes is a 30 conscientious daily one tablet. I am a fan, user, and will be a promoter of a truly good product.
Hi Dian
Thank you for sharing your experiences with LifeVantage and their product of Protandim. I wish you the best of luck in your new venture.
To your success!

Dave, thank you for this through review. I enjoyed reading it. However, if you would allow me, I would like to make a point that you missed about the autoship process.
As a distributor, the company does allow you to offset your autoship requirement with your preferred customer purchases. In other words, if you have enrolled with Vantage pack with $200 autoship to maximize your compansation plan, all you really need is to have preferred customers (PC’s) enrolled with you purchasing a total of $160 product and all YOU have to do is to purchase your own bottle of Protandim at @ $40. So, let’s say if you had 4 PC’s each purchasing one bottle of Protandim, you will only have $40 cost per month to qualify for all bonuses and commissions.
And trust me with the solid scientific back up behind this product, it really isn’t difficult to find more than enough PC in your first month of enrollment. So going forward, the autoship requirment is not a burden you cary like it is with most other MLM companies that don’t allow you to offset your autoship with customer purchases.
Also the company just recently (as of March 1st, 2012) launched a new Preferred Customer Rewards Program, that allows preferred customers enroll referrals under them, allowing them to get product credit of 25% for each product purchased by their referrals. So one could get four referrals and get their product free (with 100% product credit up to $120 value) and all you have to do is to pay shipping and tax.
This new rewards program further makes it even easier to offset any autoship burden, because you could potentially have only one PC and have 3 other customer referrals that your PC brought to the company and you just took care of $160 worth of autoship with ONE customer you personally enrolled to the company.
Not to mention, this program will explode the business volume by giving incentives to the PC’s to spread the word around.
I also share a detailed and wide range of information about diseases and heath issues related to oxidative stress and more information about the product itself as well.
If that’s okay by you, I would like to share my website address, for those visitors who would like to find out more about the product as well.

Thank you.

Sounds to me like a legitimate business opportunity. Not everyone succeeds in their business adventures no matter what it is. There is no sure thing or everyone would be in it and then no one would profit.
